Jugglers at Cirque de Demain 1983 [vids]

In the early years Cirque de Demain featured lots of jugglers. Here are the best of them from 6th CDD in 1983.

Starting with Anthony Gatto, aged 9. According to Circopedia, this is the competition that put him on the world stage - it's seen by lots of international agents and promoters. Gold medal (of course!)

Next, Serge Percelly tennis juggler. Aged 18yrs. Bronze medal.

This is just an excerpt - his full act starts with racket, ball & cap, then devilstick with the racket. You can find it on JTV.

Duo Formella from Poland - only 3 & 4 ball work, but some nice tight sync. They got a silver medal.

Gao Jin bowl kicking on unicycle. A nice version of this act, with an unusual finish (you'll have to watch it to find out). Gold medal.

Finally, one of my personal favourites (I have many) - antipodism with parasols and spinning rugs from Wang Hong (China) - a visual treat.

This was 30 years ago, and even though we've now seen people do more of these objects, this act still stands out for me for the beauty of the presentation uncompromised by the high skill level.
