Fair points sir, but the fault is mine, not the Swing Brothers - I picked a clip that starts halfway through their act. From memory, the reason he is floppy is because he has just been knocked out by some slapstick business or other.
Having said that, it's a very silly act with no motivation other than 'showing off' and one-upmanship. I've just always found it funnier to watch people acting absurdly when they don't appear to be aware of their own absurdity. 'Winking at the audience' kills it for me - never much liked comedians who laugh at their own jokes either.
Humour is such a subjective and changeable thing, isn't it. I remember thinking Police Academy was hilarious when I was a teenager...
Thanks for the Stretch People clip - very enjoyable, and extremely appropriate as they finish with a traditional Chinese tower-of-chairs balance!
