Also, some of us have rarer names than others... I, for example, don't share a name with a Conservative MP.
I have to assume students will google me when looking for contact details; my juggling related stuff is now on the second / third page of my google search [at least under incognito window searches on Chrome in the UK], beaten down by my increased engagement with professional bodies.
I find that shortening my name, and often forgoing my surname [which most jugglers didn't know pre-facebook era] is a happy medium between being identifiable online by people who know me in person and not being overly searchable.
