Thanks! Dan Barron told me a little over a year ago about "bookending" patterns in a video. I hadn't thought about it until that point, as I usually make videos more to show an idea than for it to be visually interesting, so I was trying that.

The cross-columned inverted box variation: instead of catching the 4s at the bottom of their path, you catch them near the top of their path, then carry them down to the the usual bottom. It makes the 4 hand be on top of the 2x hand for the catch, when normally it would be below. I told someone this on FB: someone on reddit told me it was the same as a cross-columned inverted box, and I believed them, so I shelved this pattern for about a year until I figured out it was different. Very subtle!

Interesting about Portal 3, and Steam getting over their 3-phobia.
