Women's 5k joggling record beaten!
Gabrielle Foran ran 5 km today in 18:12 (perhaps 18:13), where the previous record was 19:46 by Trish Evans. Gabrielle's entire run was recorded by a volunteer cyclist - we'll post the video (and the precise time) when we get it.
I always find it amazing when records are beaten by such a large margin[1][2]...I take it as a reminder that many of the world records are still far away from human limits.
[1] Especially ones where lower scores are better
[2] Gabrielle ran this race last year in 19:10, but we didn't know what the record was, or that Gabrielle was going to come close to it. Our measurements were pretty sloppy last year, so we tightened things up to spec for this year.
