I had never been to a WJF before, so I can't comment on the differences from person experience. Joe Showers, who's been to loads of them says he likes the diversity. I expect I would agree.
It was pretty easy to pick and choose. There was only one main stage, which mostly restricted the final few rounds of each event to be one at a time. Actually, even those that didn't occupy the stage still went one at a time.
I think there were only two scheduling conflicts: the WJF games (e.g. Simon Says, etc.) and the Rubik's cube finals. We changed the timing of the games day-of because a good chunk of the jugglers wanted to watch a Cirque show that would have conflicted. There were also some conflicts with the powerlifters, but they tended to keep to themselves, and didn't exactly have an approachable atmosphere, unlike everyone else.
