Waterloo 2016 HLGCBS
**Highs**
* The workshops were plentiful, and I enjoyed every one I went to. Really, I haven't gone to that many workshops per day in a long time!
* The show was mostly very strong. Particular highlights were Dom's surprise petals, John's nearly dropless act, both of Jorden's acts, and Michael Karas's.
* Chloe/Zoe's party on Saturday night
**Lows**
* I didn't like the beginning of Jordan's act (the grilled cheese bit). It was way too long for me, and I got nothing out of it. I did like his actual juggling.
* Slight low: between all the great workshops and my occasional organizer tasks, I didn't have time for much normal juggling. Wish I could've spent more time jamming with Michael, especially.
**Goals**
* Gather enough performers for the open stage - check! Despite a key performer not being able to make it =(
* Not bomb MCing the open stage - check! Things went well, and I had fun doing it.
* Make sure all the Guelphites and the special guests we were housing were happy and able to get to/from the fest - double check! I'm happy to say that I had to do fairly little, others handled it well.
**Crushes**
* Emily, for largely organizing the workshops and show.
* Michael Karas, for being even better than I expected (and I had high expectations!) His stage acts and his workshop were both excellent.
**Banes**
* Ely, for squeezing the toothpaste from the middle of the tube TWICE. YOU MONSTER.
* Not having slept much leading up to the fest meant not sleeping much during the fest hit me pretty hard. I was pretty dead on Sunday!
**Surprises**
* Saturday night party! Big fun!
* The workshops being so great!
* The workshops run by me and Emily+me were very well-attended, despite being at bad times (timing was intentional, so we could have the guest workshops at better times). Especially surprised by the good turnout on Sunday morning!
Final comment: this was probably the best Waterloo fest I've been to.
