Showing that you can also juggle a high number imho adds to the show. Jugglers (or fans of) can appreciate and rate outstanding skills with few props by knowing and recognizing, and comparing to what's else to be seen, a lot more what the performer is even doing, maybe having tried alike themselves, other than an audience in circus or varieté, that rates by "Ouuh, how high!" or "Gee, how many!".
I remember first seeing Victor Kee decades ago with a mesmerizing contact act with - i think - upto three balls. Even though I was caught by the perfection / harmony / skills / the whole / the creative handling and moves and tricks, .. still and yet - which is unfair - I asked myself: yeah, but can he also handle more balls? Is that his only act & all his skills or has he been reaching higher hanging stars, which I would expect the best to do? Like: I like it, it mesmerizes me, but is it also generally very good, how would experts rate him? .. .. At the end of his performance he did then a short run of 7 ballswhich made me rate him one of the greatest forgood and leaving no doubt. But that's only me thinking `numbers´ and I had no contact to contact-juggling (making me unsure how to generally rate that) and there wasn't vid's-uploads at the time.
