4 jugglers from Cirque de Demain 1980 [vids]

First, the great Sergei Ignatov:

Generally considered to be one of the greatest jugglers of the modern age, in his time he was far ahead of everyone else. In this clip he is 30 yrs old. He was a guest, not competing.

Second, Mark Robertson, aged 17:

This footage is already on JTV, but I re-uploaded it because this is clearer and in colour. It ends with Mark receiving a short master-class in ring juggling from Ignatov (how amazing must that have been for a 17 year old!) Mark was awarded a silver medal.

Third, a short clip of plate waltzing (spinning on a table) by an unnamed juggler from the Cairo Circus School:

Good close-ups of the technique.

Finally, trident manipulation by Muhamed Badr El Nouby, also from the Cairo Circus School:

This skill is called Fei-cha by the flow mob, but all the books and vids of chinese acrobatics that I've seen call it 'trident manipulation'. It's one of the traditional chinese acrobatic forms, and this Egyptian spinner would almost certainly have learnt it from the chinese.
The trident has loose elements on the head, which are making the jangling sound you can hear - it's usually a very noisy act.

Interesting trivia department: a chinese acrobat friend once told me that the important physical characteristic of trident spinners was smooth musculature, so the rolling wasn't disrupted by bumping along muscular arms.
